In January 2007 I was invited to participate in the Third International Art Symposium in Dubai, UAE. I found myself immersed for two weeks absorbing the contrasting images of a modern city combined with vestiges of traditional times. I tried to represent my response to this experience by using elements in opposition: textured and plain, geometric and informal, kinetic images contained in defined planes, and juxtaposed colours breaking into each other.
